We've had lots of stuff going on. I guess I'll start with pics from last night. We went to a Super Bowl party at Bill and Tami's house. We ate and watched football...and ate...and talked...and I took pictures...and we ate some cake....you get the idea. Here are some of the pics....
I made a cake for Tarabeth's birthday. She's a big Steelers fan, so I went with that theme since it was also a Super Bowl party:
The birthday girl and her cake:
Tarabeth and Shannon, sampling a cheese ball:
Annette, modeling the latest in cake decorations/hair accessories:Bob and Reagan (and Tarabeth in the background....not sure what she's doing here...she'll love me for posting this one. haha):
We did get a little Super Bowl party surprise. One of the girls in this picture is pregnant. I'll let you figure that one out yourself. haha:
Shannon snapped this lovely photo of me (and Jana):
Here's Roxie, right after she found out that somebody is having a baby:
Someone (Joseph) wanted the piece right out of the middle:
The kids ended up being off school the entire week last week, so we spent a lot of time at home. It snowed pretty much everyday. The kids did lots of sledding and frolicking in the snow.
Here's Roxie, ready to go outside:
Okay, here's a video of Roxie making a snow angel...apparently, I was holding the camera wrong, so it's crooked. Sorry. haha
I told the kids to lay in the snow and make snow angels. They were less than enthusiastic about it. haha:
For some reason, Roxie was having a few issues...not sure what her problem was:
As I said, Roxie was having issues while we were outside. She kept breaking out into tears every few minutes. lol:
Okay, here's an interesting story. On Friday around 1:30 p.m. as I was getting ready to get into the shower (yes, I was just taking my shower at 1:30....haha) I heard a huge explosion. It shook the house, and the stuff on the shelves rattled. It scared me to death. The electricity went off, and so did the cable. I had no idea what had happened. I went ahead and took my shower and got dressed. I heard lots of sirens, fire trucks, police, ambulances, etc. going by the house. Then I got a call from a lady at church asking if we were okay. I said we were fine, and she proceeded to tell me that she'd heard that a plane had crashed next to us. Okay, well, that explains the explosion I heard. I looked outside, and sure enough, all of the emergency vehicles were parked right down the road, and traffic was backed up. Here's what it looked like:
We haven't found out a lot of details about the plane. There were six people on board, and none survived. The plane was flying from Delaware and was running low on fuel. It wasn't supposed to stop here, but I guess they were going to stop and re-fuel.
Anyway, Friday after Jamie got home from work, we decided to venture out into the snow and go eat at Texas Roadhouse. I took a few photos along the way of the snowy scenery:
And then we made it to the restaurant:
I got some new hair-do ideas from the websites that Lori posted. I tried one of the styles on Roxie. It's supposed to look like a heart. I thought it was pretty cute:
I also had an order for another Macy's cake last weekend:
This week is when I'm taking the two-day cake decorating class. It's 8-5 for two days. That's a lot of caking. We'll see how it goes. I hope I enjoy it....'cause if I don't, it will be a miserable two days. haha

I love all the pictures of the kids in the snow. I even saved one because it was so funny. lol They did a good job on their snow angels too. I think Kaleb enjoyed it more than he let on. lol Oh, and the video of Roxie crying...that is great! lol Again, I love how you expose your kids' misery for our enjoyment. lol
So have you got your cable back yet then? I can't believe you still went ahead with your shower after hearing an explosion and your power going out! haha
Tell David and Amanda congrats for me!
)
@crimsonlocks - Yes, we have our cable back. It was off Friday and most of Saturday.
I had to go ahead with my shower. I was actually getting ready to step in when the plane crashed. I didn't see any reason to get my clothes back on without getting clean first. lol
I just saw what Jamie was eating...is that a sweet potato with that brown sugar/cinnamon mixture on it? If it is, and if their rolls are good, I might just have to try the Texas Roadhouse sometime.
I'm loving the pictures of Roxie the pink snowbeast. And her "issues" will just break your little heart, won't they ... just sticks out that lip and goes for it.
@crimsonlocks - Well let me tell ya, I am not a fan of steakhouses at all, but I love Texas Roadhouse. Their rolls are to die for, and yes, that is a baked sweet potato with brown sugar. And it comes with cinnamon butter also. Sooooo good. I order the baked sweet potato with brown sugar (you can get it with marshmallows and cinnamon if you want, but I prefer just the brown sugar...) and I get the house salad with it. They are really good too. The salad, potato and rolls are enough to make me stuffed without ordering one of the big meals. I'm not much of a meat person anyway.

Wow o_O
When is Amanda and David due? Are they going to find out what it is? Tell them we are thinking about them. Did you say you wanted to be the message service.HaHa We think about you all too.
Love Roxies hari!! I'll have to try that one on Livy for valentines day. Which site did you find that one on? My favorite so far is babes in hairland. I have tried the braide headband, hair pulled back behind ears headband style and then my favorite so far has been the crisscross headband hair do.
@lorilu_o - I found that one on http://hair4myprincess.blogspot.com I'm not sure if that was one of the links you posted or not. When I went to some of your links, those pages would have links to other sites, so it may have been one of those. Anyway, that one had several different styles for Valentine's Day. I'm gonna try one of the others on Lexie. I like the babes in hairland too. I can't wait to try some of those. One of those sites had a cool hair-do with a scarf braided into her hair. It looked really cute.
How exciting! Tell David and Amanda I said Congrats Congrats! I am thrilled for them. Do you have Amanda's phone#...could you message me with it sometime. ??
@momoftoddlerwithattitude - Amanda is due September 6. And yes, I believe they do plan to find out what it is. And yes, she gave me her permission to plaster her news on xanga. lol
Thanks for the photos. Also, congrats to Amanda and David!!!!! Bill and Tammy are going to be grandparents, Yeah! Have fun with your cake classes. The Macy's cake is Awesome. I wish you lived closer so I could borrow your talents. I made a cake for our Superbowl party. It was a football shaped cake. I'll send you a picture. Maybe. It doesn't even come close to one of yours!:) Talk to ya later.
You are too funny, Jen. "I heard an explosion and the electricity went out, so I went ahead and took my shower" LOL. Without investigating the explosion, you just went on with your day. How funny.
