Month: March 2009

  • Well here I am in Las Vegas.  It hasn't been fun so far though.  Our flight arrived on time at 10:50 p.m. last night, which is 1:50 a.m. at home, so I was already exhausted.  And there is a whole big long story about getting our rental car, but I'll spare everyone all the details, because it just makes me mad to think about it.  I'll sum it up by saying it took about 2 hours to get a rental car.  So that means it was about 2:30 a.m. (5:30 a.m. our time) before we got to bed.  I had been up almost 24 hours.  That is SO not good, especially when you're pregnant.  Let's just say, I was sick already, and that didn't help matters.

Anyway, I'm sitting here in our hotel room while Jamie is gone to one of his meetings or something.  He had to be there at 7:30 this morning, so he didn't get much sleep.  But neither did Roxie or I, because Roxie woke up the same time Jamie did and wouldn't go back to sleep.  Vegas looks like a fun place, but right now, I have no energy to venture out there on my own (with Roxie) to check it out.  So I'm waiting til Jamie gets back so he can go with us.

On a happier note, I did get Twilight loaded onto my iPod before I left, so I was able to watch it on the plane.  That was so cool.  I also wore my Twilight sweatshirt, and Bart and Lisa bought me a Twilight tote bag, which I used as my carry-on. So yeah, I was a Twilight-nerd on the way here. lol

I did a couple of cakes before I left.  One was a guitar.  This picture was taken before  I put on a few last details:

And the other one is a "Fashionista" girl.  They just wanted me to duplicate what was on the partyware, and this was it:

Did I mention that I am pregnant?  Yeah, that was a shock.  I'm finally getting used to the idea.....I think.  Four kids.  What have I gotten myself into?  Every hair on my head will be gray by the end of the year.

  • It's been a while since I posted anything.  I was sick for several days with the flu or virus or something gross.  Kaleb and I had it at the same time, but luckily no one else got it.  I had to cancel a cake I had to do, because I was so sick.  I have only one cake for this weekend and then two for the next weekend.  We also leave for Vegas the Sunday of that weekend, so I'll be pretty busy.  I can't believe it's almost time for us to go already.

We've had really warm weather here the past few days, so the kids have spent a lot of time playing outside.   I took a bunch of pics of them, so here they are....

Roxie decided she wanted to learn to drive Lexie's Barbie bug (at my parent's house):

When it got stuck, she decided to give it a little push:

    She enlisted Kaleb's help:

She finally let Lexie get in with her:

    The End.

  • I don't really have much to report.  I did a couple of cakes on Friday.  One was another newspaper cake for a retirement:

And the other was just a small cupcake cake.  It was "Mater" from Cars:

Yeah, these aren't nearly as exciting as the diaper bag. haha

Today at church Shannon wanted me to take a picture of Joseph and Roxie.  They are both 3 years old.  Do they look like they're the same age?:

    001

Actually, Joseph is almost 11 months older than her, but they are the same age for about a month.  Still, that's a pretty big difference in size, considering they're both 3.  haha

I don't know if anyone remembers when I mentioned about Lexie and the Reading Counts program that they do at the school.  A few months ago, she didn't have any points, and this one little boy was way ahead...yada, yada, yada....Well, I told her she better start reading and racking up the points so she could beat him.  Okay, so I bribed her. lol  Anyway, I'm happy to report that things are going very well, and she is WAY in the lead.  At the rate she's going, that trophy will be hers. haha  I'm so competitive.

Well that's about it, I guess.  I'm tired and boring right now.
